This includes one Super UD lens, plus six UD elements to reduce both axial chromatic aberration and chromatic aberration of magnification to achieve high image quality throughout the zoom range. Additionally the inclusion of Air Sphere coating is employed to alleviate flare and ghosting. The RF100-500mm F4.5-7.1 L IS USM lens features fluorine coatings on the front and rearmost surfaces to help prevent oil and water from adhering to the lens, making it easy to clean smudges and fingerprints off.
