Customisable high-speed shooting

Shoot stills at up to 30fps using the camera’s electronic shutter or at up to 12fps with its mechanical shutter. It’s also possible to specify lower shooting speeds to suit the action being photographed.

In-camera crop

Accelerate your workflow by cropping images in-camera, with the option to use the EOS R5 Mark II’s neural-network upscaling to create a higher-resolution version.

Electronic viewfinder

5.76 million-dot resolution delivers outstanding detail, while a 120fps refresh rate means that movement is rendered smoothly and naturally. A 24mm eyepoint and enlarged eyepiece surround make the camera comfortable to use for long periods.

Eye control AF

Select an AF point simply by looking at it. Our next generation Eye Control AF uses new optics and a revised line-of-sight algorithm running at double speed. The result feels like the EOS R5 Mark II is reading your mind.

Customisable controls

A camera that speaks your language. Set up the EOS R5 Mark II exactly how you want it, to suit your shooting style as well as the situation you’re working in. Custom controls are separate for video, stills and playback.

Versatile Vari-Angle screen

A 3.5-inch, 2.1 million-dot touch-sensitive viewscreen pivots away from the camera body and swivels through 270˚, making it easy and instinctive to shoot from different angles. VR content can be reviewed easily in VR Preview mode.

Battery grips

A choice of battery grips is available: Battery grip BG-R20 enhances handling when shooting vertically and gives space for an extra Battery pack LP-E6P. Battery grip BG-R20EP adds an ethernet LAN port for wired connectivity. Cooling fan CF-R20EP adds a cooling fan and ethernet, for extended video shooting.

Dual Memory card slots

One CFExpress and one SD UHS-II memory-card slot for multiple proxy and format options.

USB connectivity and charging

Stay prepared when you’re on the move, with convenient in-camera recharging. The EOS R5 Mark II can also connect via USB to computers and smartphones running a range of remote-control, file-transfer and video-streaming apps.

Cooling fan exhaust

When using the Cooling fan CF-R20EP grip to cool the EOS R5 Mark II while shooting video, air is drawn into the camera body, circulated around its internals , and then expelled through exhaust ports in the side of the camera.

Fast wireless connectivity

Support for Wi-Fi 6E (2.4GHz/5GHz/6GHz, depending on region) allows fast image transfer to devices and computers, as well as remote camera control. Built-in MIMO antennas deliver outstanding reliability.

Pre-continuous shooting

15 frames are buffered continuously while the shutter-release is half pressed, and written to memory card when you actually take the shot. This lets you capture images from the previous ½ sec , at 30fps, so you nail that decisive moment. At slower shooting speeds, the pre-capture time increases, giving you even more flexibility.

Dual Pixel Intelligent AF

Track people, animals and objects even when they are momentarily hidden from view. Action Priority mode determines the subject in certain sports and moves the AF area accordingly.

High ISO sensitivity transforms low-light work

A max ISO 51,200 sensitivity (extendable to 102,400) is supported by in-camera neural network noise reduction, for cleaner, more-detailed jpeg images.

Customisable continuous shooting up to 30fps

Adjust the EOS R5 Mark II’s continuous shooting speed in fine increments, capturing 45-megapixel images up to 30 times every second – a combination of speed and resolution that reveals the subtleties of movement in quickly changing scenes.

Freeze moments in time with a top electronic shutter speed of 1/32,000 sec, and capture 4K video at up to 120p, including sound. The EOS R5 Mark II’s fast sensor read-out minimises rolling-shutter distortion .
